A busy week - Forest View reopens, celebrates 7 years in business and purchases Rossford Lanes

Forest View celebrates 7 years with purchase of Rossford Lanes!

With the community’s support, local small business Forest View Lanes- Recreation Bar & Grill in Temperance, Michigan was able to make it through nearly a year of being shut down or partially shut down. Although it has not been an easy twelve months, owner Rich Kenny has many things to celebrate!

Along with many other Michigan businesses, Forest View was shut down on March 16th, 2020. Throughout the rest of the year, there were many restrictions put into place that closed or reduced operations.

Although still being limited on capacity and hours of bowling, food and beverage sales, Forest View is excited to be able to allow guests to enjoy the entire bowling, food and beverage experience at 25% capacity. Even though it’s a low percentage, Forest View is fortunate to have a large 20,000 square foot building that allows plenty of room to space out guests for a safe experience.

“Just in time to celebrate our 7th anniversary, we are excited to be able to open back up and are happy to be able to offer a SAFE and fun place for our patrons to go to get out of the house,” says owner Rich Kenny.

February 3rd marks the seventh anniversary under current owner (Rich Kenny) of Forest View Lanes Recreation Bar & Grill (59th year in business, since 1962) providing entertainment for all ages in a family-friendly environment in Bedford. What a better way to celebrate than by adding another facility!

Mr. Kenny purchased Rossford Lanes, just 11 miles south in Rossford Ohio. He intends to update and remodel the building with plans of reopening it for league and open play later this year under the new name of Forest View - Rossford Lanes! They have a target opening date of August 1, 2021, but are hopeful to be open by May 1, 2021.

"It's a staple of the community," expressed Mr. Kenny. "It's located right down in Rossford. It's a beautiful facility. It just needs some TLC and a facelift to bring it back to life."

As excited as re-opening Bedford and a grand opening down the road in Rossford are, the fight for all small businesses is going to continue for some time! Forest View is grateful for all of the support over the past twelve months and for the future support as it is crucial to keeping now both sets of doors open!
